Your consultation and patch test are an important part of your treatment process. We review your medical history and assess your skin and hair type, to make sure laser is the right choice for you. This also gives you the opportunity to ask any questions and to better understand what your treatment will involve.  

During your free 30-minute consultation we will walk you through what is involved in your treatment so you can fully understand what to expect: 

• You get the chance to meet the therapist and make sure you are comfortable.
• To discuss how many sessions, you may require.  
• To be made aware of any potential side effects to the treatment.  
• How to prepare for your sessions.  

We also want to know a bit more about you so we can clearly advise of the best course of treatment.

• Your medical history.  
• Your skin type and sensitivity.  
• Your current hair removal methods.  
• The outcome you are expecting from the treatment.   
• Any questions or concerns you may have regarding the treatment. 

Why do we carry out a patch test?  

There are 3 reasons why we perform a patch test:  

• To determine which settings on the laser are best suited to your skin type and treatment area. 
•  To indicate whether there is any adverse reaction, before going ahead with the full treatment.
• So, you can get an idea of what the treatment will feel like and voice any of your concerns. 

 A patch test will always be performed at least 24 hours prior to commencing any treatment.

HOW IT WORKS? 

It emits a fine jet of Nitrous Oxide under high pressure, which allows me to work at millimeter precision. This destroys the tissue by freezing the inter-celluar fluid, forming ice shards and crystals which rupture the membrane, thereby destroying the cel. That means there will be no collateral damage to the healthy tissue. It's so incredibly accurate and practical.

My name is Hayley Jackson, and I am the owner of Laser Lounge Sidmouth. I first started in the beauty therapy industry back in 2009. In 2018 I became a mum and took time out to raise my son. As much as I love him, when I could make use of my son’s nursery timings, I returned to work. 

During the various lockdowns, I took the opportunity to retrain as a laser therapist. I researched competing laser technologies and identified Skyncare as the stand-out market leader and underwent extensive training on their Bio-care light machine. 

I am fully qualified and insured in accordance with all UK regulations and standards as a laser therapist.   

Why did I want to become a laser therapist?  I‘m English, but of mixed race (English/Indian) and have always had ALOT of dark hair which used to make me self-conscious and uncomfortable. I would avoid clothes that exposed my arms or legs, and I would try my hardest to stay covered up even in the heat of summer. I worked and saved hard to ensure that I had enough money to seek out laser treatments for myself. I have been zapped  from head to toe and believe me when I say, “it was life changing” (NO REALLY). Having gone through the process (and the emotional journey) I feel well placed to help others who are in a similar situation and who may benefit from me sharing my journey. 

Aside from the emotional drain associated with excess hair, there is also the inconvenience which everybody (everybody who wants less or no hair that is) has to deal with. Our lives are busy enough without the tedium of hair removal regimes every day/week/fortnight... and let’s not forget their lifelong associated costs! So, for me it was always a bonus that I did not have to attend to hair removal anymore and whilst the initial upfront costs of the laser treatments were at a premium, I know that these will pale in comparison to other life-long solutions (shaving, creams, waxing, etc.)
